Badhaai Do got off to a slow start compared to pre-COVID-19 era films after it opened on Friday, February 11. It showed a positive trend on Saturday and box office collections increased by around 60-70%, Box office India reports. This is the first time this type of growth has occurred on Saturday, the report shared. Based on Saturday collections seeing a major jump, there was a good chance that Badhaai Do would be able to pack a decent collection in the first weekend.

True to his promise, Badhaai Ho also managed to maintain the positive upward trend on Sunday. BOI said that the film saw a jump of around 30-40% and managed to collect around Rs 3.25-3.50 crore net on the third day of its release. The weekend figures remain low at around Rs 7.50 crore nett, but the film is likely to shoot for a few weeks before Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is released on February 25.

The BOI report further said that on Sunday, most of Badhaai Do’s business was in the afternoon and early evening, which was unaffected by the curfews. Badhaai Do Friday collections were Rs 1.65 cr, followed by Rs 2.72 cr on Saturday, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

It will be interesting to see if Badhaai Do will be able to make good numbers on Monday, Valentine’s Day. RajKummar also thanked his fans for coming out to see his movie. He shared a transformation photo on Instagram and wrote, “The best feeling in the world is when you give your heart and soul to a movie and your character and get so much love back from the from the audience.
