BL Metamorphosis Live-Action Film’s BL In-Story Manga Gets Live-Action Miniseries – Up News Info

Hulu Japan announced on Tuesday that the story boys love manga Kimi no Koto dake Miteitai (I Only Want to Keep Looking at You) in the live-action film adaptation of Kaori Tsurutaniit is BL Metamorphosis (Metamorphosis not Engawa) manga will have its own four-episode live-action series adaptation that will debut on Hulu June 17.

Yūki Kura (left in the visual above) stars as Yūma Minase, while Rintarō Mizusawa (right) stars as Sakura Asakura. The story centers on the two childhood friends, who were together in elementary school, middle school, and high school, but Sakura always felt something for Yūma that he could never tell her. During their last summer in high school, Sakura confesses her feelings to Yūma and kisses him.

Ruka Ishikawa stars as Riko Yoshimura, a girl who also has a crush on Sakura. Kento Sakurai plays Norio, a boy who also has a crush on Riko. Comedian Jirō plays Yūma and Sakura’s homeroom teacher, Ishino. Yuki Katayama plays Nakayama, a music teacher married to Ishino.

Shunsuke Kariyama directs the series. Comedian Katamari Mizukawa is writing the screenplay for the series.

Live action BL Metamorphosis The film will be released in Japan on June 17.

Mana Ashida stars in the film as Urara, while Nobuko Miyamoto stars like Ichinoi. Other cast members include Naniwa Danshi’s Kyōhei TakahashiKotone Furukawa, Tomoko Ikuta, Ken MitsuishiYuki Shioya, Taeko Itō, Asumi Kikuchi and Shūtarō Ōoka.

Shunsuke Kariyama is directing the film, with a screenplay by Yoshikazu Okada. Hidehiro Kawano, Yutaka Tanito and Hiroko Ōgura are credited as producers. Tsurutani and BL manga creator Janome draws the BL manga that will appear in the film. Main actresses Mana Ashida and Nobuko Miyamoto performs the film’s theme song, a cover of Tjiros’ song “Kore Sae Areba” (As Long as I Have This).

Seven Seas Entertainment released the manga in English, and it describe the story of the first volume:

Ichinoi, a 75-year-old woman living a peaceful life, unwittingly buys a Boy’s Love manga one day… and is fascinated by what she finds there. When she returns to the bookstore to buy the next volume, the high school girl working there – Urara, a BL fan–notice a budding fangirl when she sees one. When Urara offers to help Ichinoi explore this whole new fictional world, the two dive into BL fandom together and form an unlikely friendship along the way.

Tsurutani spear the manga on Kadokawait is New kind of comic website in November 2017 and completed it in October 2020. Kadokawa published the manga’s fifth and final volume in January 2021 with Tsurutani’s 2007-2015 short story collection.

The manga topped the list of manga for female readers in the 2019 edition of Takarajimashait is Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guide. The manga placed sixth at the 12th Manga Taisho in 2019 and also won the New Face Award at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2019.
