Elizabeth Banks cast in upcoming medical drama
When most people think of Elizabeth Banks, they usually refer to one of two franchises. It’s either his role in the Perfect films as acapella commentator or the eccentric Effie Trinket of The hunger Games. Both of these elements are incredibly different from his next project – a medical drama.
Banks has just been cast in the lead role in A mistake, a GFC Films production, which follows a gifted surgeon who survives sexism and prejudice in a male-dominated workplace. After making a mistake during surgery, her life and career are in danger as her male colleagues begin to question her abilities even more.
It will certainly be a role in which Banks will have the opportunity to demonstrate her palette, considering that in addition to her best-known work, she is notably an actress. It will be interesting to see how she does in a dramatic role.
A mistake is an adaptation written and directed by Christine Jeffs, based on the book by Carl Shuker. Jeffs is a well-known filmmaker on the festival circuit, having had films at the Cannes Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival.
The film is set to begin principal photography on August 15 in New Zealand.
