Actress Tamannaah Bhatia says she is happy to break the myth that female-led cinema is for females, with Babli Bouncer.

Tamannaah Bhatia was interacting with NewsHelpline during the special screening of Babli Bouncer at IMC Ladies Wing in Mumbai.

Speaking about the film’s success, Tamannaah Bhatia said, “I’m so thankful to everyone, especially the media, who always give honest feedback, and you back up good content whether it’s streaming on OTT or on the theatre, this film touches on female empowerment and conveys a message, in such an entertaining way, we wanted to put a smile on the audience’s face”

“After screening the film here in the IMC Ladies wing, I realized that when you play such a powerful character, you realize that the value of playing strong characters impacts so many people and the kind of feedback and compliments I get, it makes me happy. Not just the wives, but their husbands also enjoy the film”

“A female-directed movie isn’t just for women, it’s for everyone, and now that everyone loved my movie, that’s the real win for me. I’m happy to have broke the norm that movies for women are only for women, and to be honest, that wasn’t even our focus in the movie,” Bhatia added.

Babli Bouncer revolves around a small-town girl named Babli Tanwar, who is from Asola Fatepur and moves to Delhi in a bid to get a job, which makes her a bouncer.

Talking about the really difficult aspect of playing a Harayan bouncer, Tamannaah said, “I was tense playing a Haryana bouncer, getting the lingo right was a challenge, I’m glad people liked it. my attempt. We all try to make an honest attempt but we never really know if the audience will like it or not but when my friends from Harayan kinda punched me about the accent I was relieved.

Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and written by Amit Joshi, Aradhana Debnath and Madhur Bhandarkar, the film also stars Abhishek Bajaj, Sahil Vaid, Saanand Verma, Saurabh Shukla, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Upasna Singh, Ashwini Kalsekar, Rajesh Khera and more.
