Josh Hutcherson and More Join Jason Statham’s Action Movie

As production begins on The beekeeper United Kingdom, Deadline brings word that Miramax has welcomed the addition of four new cast members who will join Jason Statham in his upcoming action thriller. This includes The hunger Games former Josh Hutcherson, The Umbrella Academy stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi (Under the Shadow) and Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons. Further details about their characters are still being kept under wraps.

Described as a fast-paced action thriller, The beekeeper “follows the personal journey of revenge of a man who takes on national stakes after he is revealed to be a former agent of a powerful, clandestine organization known as the Beekeepers,” reads the synopsis.

The film is directed by David Ayer from a screenplay written by Kurt Wimmer. It will be produced by Statham and Wimmer, with Bill Block for Miramax and Chris Long for Cedar Park Studios.

Statham will next be seen in upcoming action sequels Consumables 4, Meg 2: The Trenchand x fast. Ayer first gained credit for writing Antoine Fuqua’s crime drama training day and 2001 The fast and the furious.
