Kangana Ranaut lands role of Sita in period drama “The Incarnation- SITA” – view details
Kangana Ranaut ultimately won the race to play the role of the goddess Sita in the upcoming movie “The Incarnation – SITA”. The 34-year-old actress was last seen in the movie Thalaivii. The film was well received by critics and audiences alike and did some fair business at the box office. After playing the role of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa, the actress is ready to play the character of Sita in her next film. The Incarnation – SITA is written by veteran KV screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad and will be directed by Alaukik Desai.
In the press release, filmmaker Alaukik Desai said this is a character that has never been explored and I am delighted to bring Kangana Ranaut on board as âSitaâ. The film will change the way people perceive Sita’s story and I thank SS Studio for their support and trust, he added.
According to previous reports, Kareena Kapoor was in the news for playing the role of Sita in the film. The actress, however, never raised the rumors that she asked for a raise for her role as Sita. In the recent Guardian interview, she said that she made it clear what she expects for the role and that it’s not even about demanding but being respectful of women.
