Kangana Ranaut appears to have won the race to play the role of the goddess Sita in a Bollywood film. Four-time National Award winner Kangana Ranaut is ready to play the mythical character in his next film The Incarnation – SITA, which will be directed by Alaukik Desai. The story of the film was written by seasoned screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad.

Filmmaker Alaukik Desai said in a press release: “The universe helps those who surrender themselves to it with conviction. What used to be a mirage is now clarity. The dream of a pious character never explored is now a reality. I am delighted to bring Kangana Ranaut on board as Sita. This godly journey will change the course of how we view our mythology. Thank you SS Studio for your immense support and trust.

Earlier, reports suggested that Kareena Kapoor would play Sita in director Alaukik Desai. While the actor never directly addressed the rumors that she had increased her fees for the role, she recently commented on the trolling in an interview with The Guardian, “I’m saying very clearly what I want and I think respect has to be given. It’s not about being demanding, it’s about being respectful to women. And I think things are sort of changing.

Saloni Sharma of SS Studio, who will fund the magnum opus, said: “As a woman, I couldn’t be happier to welcome Ms. Kangana Ranaut aboard our VFX magnum opus, ‘The Incarnation Sita’. Kangana symbolizes the spirit and essence of the Indian woman – fearless, intimidating and daring…. It is time for us to step in to celebrate equality in all respects.

On the labor front, Kangana was last seen as the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and actor J Jayalalitha in the recently released Thalaivii with actor Arvind Swami who played the role of MGR. Kangana buckled Dhaakad and a Tejas and The Incarnation – SITA in her kitten.
