My Happy Marriage Novel Series Gets Live-Action Movie Spring 2023 – News
TOHO announced on Monday that it is producing a live-action film adaptation of the writer Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukiokait is my happy marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) light novel series that will open in spring 2023. Ren Meguro (right in the image below) of the idol group snowman will play the role of Kiyoka, while Mio Imada (on the left in the image below) will play the role of Miyo.
Ayuko Tsukahara is directing the film, with a script by Tomoe Kanno.
Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the novel series in January 2019. The fifth volume of the novels shipped in July 2021. Yen Press has licensed light novels, and he describes the story:
Born into a noble family, Miyo is raised by her abusive stepmother and married to Kiyoka, a soldier so cruel that his previous fiancées fled within three days of their engagement. Without a home to return to, Miyo slowly begins to open her heart to her cold and pale future husband, despite their difficult introduction… This may be her chance to find true love and happiness.
Yen Press published the first novel volume in English on January 18. The novels also inspire an upcoming television anime adaptation by Citrus Kinema.
Rito KohsakaThe manga adaptation of debuted on Square-Enixit is gangan online website in December 2018. The manga’s third compiled book volume shipped to Japan in October 2021. Square Enix Manga & Books has licensed the manga, and it will physically and digitally launch it on June 21.
