Recently, digital spy explained everything you need to know about the fake son of the “Diamond King” before diving into the documentary.

First, Shimon has no connection to the real Leviev family. But the name has such gravity that it was enough to make his extravagant lifestyle seem like “family money”.

He actually comes from a modest background in Tel Aviv, Israel. When The Tinder scammer tried to trace his family background, his mother revealed that she had not seen her son since he was 18, who then fled Israel after being wanted for fraud.

In 2011, Shimon was accused of stealing checks from an employer, but failed to attend his court appearance and left the country with a fake passport.

A few years later, in 2015, he served three years in a Finnish prison for aggravated fraud, after he stole money from three women after claiming he worked in the arms industry before receiving money from them. After being sent back to Israel, he fled again before his court date and changed his name to Leviev.

Fast forward to January 2018, which marked the year Shimon met the first female victim of his flirty profile on Tinder.

The Tinder scammer is available to stream now on Netflix.
