Rohit Shetty Reveals Why He Chose To Make A Comedy Movie Like ‘Cirkus’ | Hindi Movie News

After the super success of his latest film ‘Sooryavanshi’, Rohit Shetty is in charge for his next ‘Cirkus’. The ace director, in a recent interview, revealed how much he wanted to make a comedic film. Since Ajay Devgn’s starring “Golmaal Again”, we haven’t seen any comedic hugs from him. He therefore wanted to return to the comedy genre and wanted to work there with none other than Ranveer Singh.

Speaking to an entertainment portal, Rohit Shetty revealed that after doing light comedy like “Golmaal Again”, he focused on action genre and delivered two crime dramas “Simmba” and “ Sooryavanshi”. So he was looking to do a comedy movie this time around, that too with Ranveer. Rohit further admitted that Ranveer’s presence made “Circus” even more exciting.

He also shared an interesting story about “Cirkus”. According to Rohit, this film was the first to go into production during the pandemic and many producers and directors used to come to the sets of “Cirkus” to see how the filming went. Not only that, but the director also dedicated the film to all the technicians on his team.

Meanwhile, “Cirkus” is Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh’s third film together. The comic caper also stars Pooja Hegde, Jaqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma in the lead. Rohit’s film, which will also see many other comedic actors, is set to hit theaters on December 23 this year.
