Romance movie tells the true story of an unbreakable bond
On Friday the 13th, some chose to skip the horror movies and went with the heartfelt movie, “Breathe,” a drama movie with an audience-pleasing romance.
The film was directed by Andy Serkins and stars Andrew Garfield as Robin Cavendish and Claire Foy as Diana Cavendish, a young couple who fall in love and initially seem to have it all: an unbreakable bond and romance. that many would envy.
The couple learns that they are expecting a baby boy, Jonathan. Unfortunately, soon after, the couple discovers that Robin has been diagnosed with poliomyelitis. Not only is he diagnosed with poliomyelitis, but he is also told that he has only three months left to live and that he is paralyzed.
When Robin hears the news, he wants to die. But the power of love helps her conquer all her fears. He is able to survive polio, have adventures with his son, and continue his love affair with Diana.
The title of the film is symbolized by actions that allow Robin to lead a meaningful life: they find a way to attach a respirator to the bed, then improve it by building a chair with a respirator that allows Robin to walk the world with his family. This leads him to become an advocate for people with polio who are struggling with despair.
The producer of “Breathe“, Jonathan Cavendish adds authenticity to the film as the story is based on his father’s life.
Rather than making the film into a bloody romance, the director and producer were able to tell the story realistically.
For example, there are graphic scenes in the movie where Robin has a negative outlook on life because he feels hopeless and just doesn’t want to exist anymore. This is an extremely important part of storytelling: keeping it as real as possible. Audiences know how to appreciate an authentic story that is unaltered and somehow turns the film into an unrealistic love story.
The director and producer knew how to add all the aspects while telling the story. Audiences saw the romance at the beginning of the story, followed by the almost happy ending, then the climax, followed by a great ending. They were able to put this into a movie with all the bad and ugly, but it came together as a heartfelt and motivational movie.
The actors were also exceptional in their roles.
Andrew Garfield, known for “The Amazing Spider-Man“, where he was the average handsome actor who played the shy but adventurous boy.
Inspire,” audiences see him come out of his shell like he did in “Hacksaw Ridge” and play a bigger role where he has to get tougher on camera because it’s based on a true story.
Then there’s Claire Foy, who plays the role of a strong-minded wife and mother who must be strong for her family in order for them all to survive. Audiences can see how these roles would go together.
We see her for example in “The Promise”, where she plays a curious teenager full of life until she goes through hardships and is forced to be more independent, which is why the role of Diana was intended for her. . The two actors were able to complement each other very well, which is another reason why it was such a great and realistic film. They put together a true and unfortunate story in a movie that captured many hearts.
