Shawn Levy to direct father-daughter drama film Inside Out for Netflix

According to the deadline, free guy director Shawn Levy has signed on to helm the upcoming father-daughter drama titled Backward. The rights to the project were successfully won by Netflix following a six-way bidding war.

This marks Levy and the streamer’s latest collaboration after working together on a number of projects such as the hit Duffer Brothers series. stranger thingsand the upcoming sci-fi action-adventure film The Adam Project.

Backward will be based on the short story written by mother-son writing duo Julianna Baggott and Finneas Scott. In addition to directing, Levy will also produce with Dan Cohen through their 21 Laps banner.
